We're back!

I just flew in and boy my arms are tired...

Nah, not really. It's a less than three hour drive south from Orlando to get here. Can I still be pooped? There was a massive amount of walking, but an equally massive amount of fun. And I am armed with things to post about for the next 10 years. I'm really going to have to be selective. However, digital cameras being the work of the devil, I took 480 pictures over the last 6 days and almost every one has a story. Argh. You never know, another hurricane might wander past Florida and completely distract me, which would spare you all. *winces at the thought*
Just one story for tonight.

The whole reason we took this trip to Disney World, as I think I've mentioned, is because my little Elizabeth turned three. For her first birthday we had a mini luau, and for her second birthday, although we only had my parents over on the actual day (just as well since the stomach flu decided to rampage through our family), we filled the house with almost 100 helium balloons (impressive looking in my tiny little house). So yes, we were at Disney World, which I realize is a wonderful present. Woohoo! But I still felt like there wasn't really anything that made yesterday any different than any other Monday. She was wearing the birthday button that Disney gives out, and I have to say that the cast members were fantastic at noticing it and wishing her happy birthday by name, and David and I were singing to her every so often, which she really liked. But she didn't have a cake, which she had inquired about several times in a completely non-whiny way, and she didn't have any presents (waiting for her at home). And since I'd spent a lot of the trip periodically tearing up (my baby met Cinderella! *sniff* She rode Dumbo after all! *sniff*) over random emotional moments, I couldn't bear the thought that my sweet little darling might not have the perfect birthday. Did I mention I was emotional? It must have been the heat getting to me.

So we went over to the Main Street Bakery in search of a piece of cake. When she saw their chocolate cake her eyes got HUGE (I must mention that it was amazing. And I am not a fan of chocolate cake, so that's saying something). Our cashier wished her a happy birthday, gave her some stickers (she really did well in the sticker department the whole trip), and we found a secluded corner to sit in and sing to her yet again. She had barely taken a bite of her cake when this gentleman (Jose!)...

...appeared out of nowhere, popped a candle in her cake and told her to wait just a minute. Then these three lovely people (including our cashier, on the left)...

...came over too, and Jose got the attention of everybody in the (packed!) bakery to tell them that it was her third birthday, lit her candle and everybody sang to her.

So my baby got a birthday party after all. *sniff*...*sniff*....ok....*SOB!*

Rachel, you crack me up! This sounds awesome! The first time I went to Disney was Disneyland in CA um, and it was 3 months ago (and we took our son, even though he was only 9 months old!). But, I still LOVED it. I even told my husband I wanted to move to CA or FL so I could audition to be a princess. Probably Belle, she was always my favorite.

It was totally awesome. I want to go back! Even in the miserable heat. Oh, and Belle was always my favorite too. We went to visit the princesses and the only one Elizabeth would interact with was Cinderella. So I had my picture taken with Belle all by myself and was perfectly happy. By the way, your little boy is pretty much edible looking. I bet you nibble him a lot. And I will remember his birthday since its the day before Elizabeth's. I like things like that!
